First Tropical Shipping Sailing through Port of Halifax January 9, 2017

Tropical Shipping is set to begin its service from the Port of Halifax, Nova Scotia. On January 9, 2017, the Vega Omega voyage 0011 will depart Halterm International Container Terminal bringing improved import and export connectivity to customers in Florida, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Halifax Port Authority preparing for next stage in global shipping

The Halifax Port Authority has commenced a significant master planning exercise to prepare for the arrival of ‘ultra-class’ containerized vessels of over 10,000 TEU; large scale industrial mega projects; increasing larger cruise vessels; and how the Halifax Seaport District can complement the urban growth and revitalization currently underway in downtown Halifax and Dartmouth.

Traffic Advisory – New 3-way stop signs along North Marginal Road

The Halifax Port Authority is taking a proactive step to increase traffic safety along North Marginal Road. Starting November 15, 2016, there will be new 3-way stop signs located at the intersection of North Marginal Road and the entrance to Richmond Terminals Pier 9C.

Port of Halifax Update

The Port of Halifax continues to see positive year-over-year cargo growth. Third quarter 2016 throughput volumes at the container terminals are up 16.1% year-to-date. Non-containerized cargo is up 19.4% year-to-date.

Stocking ‘The Shelf’ at the Seaport Market with Nova Scotia’s finest spirits

‘The Shelf’ at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market will soon carry locally-produced Nova Scotia spirits. Steinhart Distillery, Glenora Distillery and Nova Scotia Spirit Co. will be available to Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market customers throughout the week at ‘The Shelf’ which is the retail store located within the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market.
