April 21, 2015, Halifax, N.S. – The Halifax Port Authority is a finalist for two 2015 Containerisation International Awards in the categories of Corporate Social Responsibility and Port Authority of the Year.
The Halifax Port Authority is committed to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. The past 15 months have been transformative and have seen the implementation of a shore power system for cruise vessels, gold-level LEED certification at the Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market and the development of an intern program for international university students in partnerships with Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. “The Containerisation International Awards are recognized throughout the industry, and we are hounoured to be included among the finalists,” said Karen Oldfield, President and CEO, Halifax Port Authority. The awards ceremony will take place June 18, 2015.
